The Belfast Region City Deal presents an opportunity to deliver nearly £1bn worth of investment into the region, including a number of waterfront regeneration projects. World renowned designer Wayne Hemingway will look at UK trends and how the regeneration of seaside resorts in particular can deliver economic and community renewal. He will discuss how the ambitious plans for the two mile stretch of waterfront in the coastal town of Bangor, on the edge of Belfast, will be regenerated through a £75m investment toreconnectthe town to the sea. This investment, which focuses on a refurbished marine and a new international watersports centre, along with other tourism attractions, will sit alongside a private sector £50m mixed-use, hotel, leisure and residential development on the waterfront. Wayne will explain how these investments will create a very significant regeneration opportunity to Bangor and how this will set a trend for other places.
